Located on @BallState campus, the Indiana Academy for Science, Mathematics, and Humanities is a public high school for gifted and high ability students.
During May Term, 11 students, Dr. Sarah Bertekap, and Ms. Jessica Edrington traveled to Meissen, Germany to study at Sankt Afra. Their project was centered around developing an alumni mentor program.
Dr. Tom Arnold's May Term class, "The British are Coming!", learned about the historical circumstances of the battles of the American Revolution while crafting a tabletop game. This project was funded by a Community Foundation Bell Grant.
Dr. Godfrey Walwema's May Term class, Digital Electronics, received hands-on experience by learning to construct electronic units for different detectors, investigate relationships between frequencies, and study electrical signals using a Cathode Ray Oscilloscope.
Students in Dr. Sean Scott's May Term, Abraham Lincoln and the Declaration of Independence, visited the Lincoln Home National Historic Site in Springfield, Ill.
The Indiana Academy is pleased to announce that Mrs. Stacy Hunt, fifth-grade teacher at Hagerstown Elementary School, will be honored with the John E. Worthen Award at the Academy’s Commencement Ceremony.

Congratulations to our Envirothon team who competed at the state competition on April 29!
They presented a plan for addressing E. coli contamination in our local watershed and won third place on the written test.

On May 4, we honored four #IndianaAcademy faculty and staff members on their retirement. Combined, these individuals have over 122 years of service at the Academy. Some of our founders also joined to celebrate Mrs. Rogers!

Each year, students across the country participate in the U.S. Congressional Art competition. This year, Indiana Academy senior Eden McCrory’s piece placed second among all entries within Indiana’s 5th Congressional District. Congratulations, Eden!
#IndianaAcademy senior Finn Almandmoss has been named a Stamps Scholar at Purdue University's John Martinson Honors College. The Stamps Scholars Program covers a student's full cost of attendance and connects students with a national network of dedicated peers.
