barnabyclaydon thus asking to maybe find another term to describe the game better. "rpg shooter" "shoot em up / action rpg" was suggested

barnabyclaydon for me hack'n'slash implies close combat hns beatemup "god of war" hns arpg "diablo" hns shooter "zone of the enders"
Patorama alkemigames ...and possibly finding another term that explains the game better. ("shooter rpg" "shoot em up / action rpg"...)
Patorama yes. i'm asking for alkemigames' "drifting lands" to see if others also expect that hack n slash combat… x.com/i/web/status/811652918…

PixelProspector question is based on the wording in the promising looking "drifting lands" x.com/PixelProspector/status…

just talked to @alkemigames. they wonder if "hack'n'slash/shoot'em'up" in trailer is understood correctly? (=r-type w/ diablo lvl up items)
dominictarason the term "RPG Shooter" was suggested by cabel here: x.com/cabel/status/811622780…

I like "RPG Shooter" because my brain knows it won't be turn based 😜 and will instead focus on items, stats…
dominictarason good idea (hack'n'slash implies for me either beat em up h'n's ("god of war") or action rpg h'n's ("diablo")
what do you expect from "hack'n'slash/shoot'em'up"? 1. shooting close combat or 2. shooting no close combat (but w/ diablo item managemnt)
