At the AGM earlier this week, I made clear that I was prepared to stand down as Chair if anyone else would like to take on the role.

I have enjoyed the years that I have served, the club is in a much healthier position, both on and off the field than it was a few years ago, although there is still much work to do especially in and around the pavilion.

I am prepared to serve as a member of the Committee, where hopefully I can continue to act as a link between the cricket club and the Parish Council. In addition I am willing to assist with planning improvements to the pavilion.

Some exciting news… we have acquired the iconic cricket ground at Mountnessing Windmill for the 2026 season. This will be for an IFCC 3rd Saturday XI, sharing the ground every other week with another club. At 1.8 miles (or a 4 minute drive) from our main ground, it's perfect!

With all the youth coming through, we want to give them a chance to play adult cricket. We know if we don't, we'll lose them to other interests. This is an amazing opportunity for the kids to take their first steps into adult cricket and for any parents & siblings to join in.

🆚 Having been idle for 2 weeks we return to action this Sunday, 13th April, when we make the trip to Eagle & Hind. Then the following Sunday, 20th April, we play our last game of our 60th season away to @radarsfc. Both games kick-off at 10.30am and are in the @chelmsfordsunfl
