In dwelling, live close to the ground.
I’m thinking, keep to the simple.
In conflict, be fair and generous.
In governing, don’t try to control.
In work, do what you enjoy.
In family life, be completely present.
Remember that your environment is an extension of you. Make sure it reflects your values and contributes to the kind of mental state you desire. #mindset#environment
Fill your bowl to the brim
and it will spill.
Keep sharpening your knife
and it will blunt.
Chase after money and security
and your heart still never unclench.
Care about people’s approval
and you will be their prisoner.
Do your work, then step back.
The only path to serenity.
The Opposite Of Gaslighting
Gaslighting is a colloquialism, loosely defined as making someone question their own reality. The term may also be used to describe a person who presents a false narrative to another group or person which leads them to doubt their perceptions and…
become misled, disoriented, or distressed.
I guess that means the opposite of gaslighting is coaching.
A coach is someone who also makes someone question their own reality.
But rather than to mislead, disorientate, and distress, a coach is someone who presents a narrative to another person that leads them to trust their perceptions and become informed, aligned, or empowered.
#coaching
The primary function of coaching is to help elevate awareness.
When people are empowered with awareness, false problems disappear all by themselves, and real problems—if they persist—are dealt with swiftly.
In the case of the coach, you can become trapped in a superiority delusion where you play the role of the 'learned one'. And for the person receiving the coaching, you can become trapped in an inferiority delusion, playing the role of the victim. Both can be very hard to detect.
Regularly check in with your feelings to see if the above might be operating in your coaching/mentoring relationship. If it is, then there is an invisible ceiling above you, and a wall separating you from your true essence.
