Israel will not be bound by the “Lebanese clause” in the Iran deal
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has firmly informed US President Donald Trump that Israel does not consider itself obligated by any “Lebanese clause” in the agreement with Iran.
According to Ynet, Netanyahu stated that the IDF will maintain its positions in Lebanon, Syria, and Gaza for an indefinite period to ensure the security of Israeli borders and settlements.
Defense Minister Israel Katz added:
“We are pursuing a clear policy: the Israel Defense Forces will remain in the security zones to protect the border and Israeli settlements from jihadist elements.”
Israel also refuses to accept any Iranian demands concerning Lebanon.
