It’s a vicious cycle: factory farming intensifies climate pressure, climate chaos ensues and then farms face the consequences, putting animals and food security at risk. We can’t fix the climate crisis without ending factory farming. Sign the Good Food for All ECI šŸ‘‡

Glad to see Ezra Klein coming out against the SOB Act. The entire factory farming system is based on efficiency to keep meat cheap and abundant. And that obsession is not just costing us our humanity but a liveable planet.
My @nytopinion colleague @ezraklein on how an obsession with efficiency can cost us our humanity — in this case, in how we (mis)treat pigs on factory farms, and how some in Congress aim to make this trade off worse. nytimes.com/2026/06/14/opini…

They said "too small, no defense, not superstar material." Keep this in mind in the fight for animals and the health of the planet.

Really glad to see this. It is an uncomfortable fact that we've been speaking about for a while.
A new report from Project Drawdown & University of Missouri shows that most of our crops are going to biofuel & animal feed, not human consumption. This is insane! We have enough food to feed the entire world, but we're choosing to starve people to feed cars & livestock instead.

So many externalities of animal ag. And very little thought about whether animal suffering has an economic impact. Really glad to see this book!
The Benefits and Costs of Animal Welfare In his deeply thoughtful and important book, economist Nicolas Treich considers direct (animal-centered) and indirect (human-centered) aspects of animal welfare. psychologytoday.com/us/blog/…

Candidates should also be talking about what industries are causing the nitrate-contaminated water and rising cancer rates - manure & fertilizers on feed crops.
Op-ed: Iowa's biggest political issue is cancer. For decades, farm pollution was treated as untouchable. Now, candidates from both parties are talking about nitrate-contaminated drinking water and rising cancer rates. āœļø @modeshift of @circleofblue thenewlede.org/2026/06/pollu…

šŸ“£ Help protect New Mexico's waters! Federal rollbacks have already stripped Clean Water Act protections from up to 95% of New Mexico’s streams and 88% of its wetlands. Without decisive state action to implement strong protections, these waters, and the communities that depend on them, remain at risk. ā†˜ļø Sign the petition today: secure.ngpvan.com/3c472F0s30…

Climatemaxxing livestock can worsen animal welfare, as a new UK govt report notes. And yet many efforts to make livestock healthier are actually win-win-wins, raising productivity, improving animal welfare, and reducing GHG emissions and other environmental impacts, as I note in this @Sentient_Media article. buff.ly/Snf33RO

This is encouraging. Would love to see the published poll.
New national polling is in, and the message is clear. 82% of Trump's supporters want tougher action on polluters. 7 to 1 want the EPA stronger, not weaker. Nearly 8 in 10 say they have a right to know what's in their air, water, food, and the products they use. We agree.
