What does “home” mean? 🏠 It’s the undeniable space in your heart that catches moments into sense memories. “Home” is as intrinsic to the body as a finger print and unquestioned by the mind. Los Angeles will always be that place for me. 🧭 That feeling of relief when the pilot relays the final transmission, “we are now making our final descent into Los Angeles.” To the outside world, it’s a metropolis of movie stars 🌠 and the allure of Hollywood. 🎬 To me it’s a neighborhood where I run into my kindergarten teacher while shopping for groceries, speciality local businesses, the shortcuts that even Waze doesn’t know about. 🤍 My life can be charted within a 20 mile radius from where I was born, the house I grew up in, the trips to see my grandparents every other day, and the same school I went to K-12. Just when I think I might leave, the city listens and sends me a sign that is equal parts surreal and hypnotic. Now the city needs me, needs us, to help rebuild what was lost in the wildfires. I am currently working with @rainerhosch on a group exhibition that will support the efforts to rebuild the spirit of the city we are proud to call home. #CaliforniaWildfires #PalisadesFire
