Unfortunately, while performing scheduled maintenance on the core power busses at our primary Chicago datacenter, an unplanned facility-wide outage occurred 08/23/2020 at approximately 04:00UTC. Power has been restored but bare metal and VPS leases will need to be restarted.

This would put us out of business. We will not compromise on the security and safety of our systems and be forced put our customer's valuable data at risk of theft or other compromise.

This is extremely serious. If passed into law, Intel, AMD and others would be forced to use the technologies they have already deployed (ME, PSP, TrustZone, etc.) to officially backdoor their products and permanently subvert security on most computers. justice.gov/opa/pr/statement…

We've completed a one-time static IP move to a new scope for the oldest VPS accounts in our system. This will allow us to provide higher uptime for these VPS leases, but will require that you reconfigure your static IP(s) to the new prefix and gateway shown in your account.

Remember the @Intel microcode EULA that we mentioned just prior? Section 3(v) prohibits all third party benchmarking! This license file is distributed with downloadcenter.intel.com/dow… , see pastebin.com/raw/J8MXpPdh for an archive copy. @FSF @FSFe this is why open µcode is important!

Note that only x86 has #FlexVer at this time while @RaptorEng and @OpenPOWERorg work on making the rest of the #OpenPOWER firmware reproducible, plus other design tasks. Still a great way to get familiar with the world of #POWER9 and do remote development work!
