BREAKING: The REI union is asking customers across the country to boycott the chain.
The workers of @reiunion have been trying to negotiate a first contract for 4 years.
They're tired of the stonewalling and union busting. Now they're escalating, and asking you to join them.
We joined many of you in welcoming the PG’s new owners. Then celebrations got cut short. Folks in Baltimore were told our staff is getting halved. The CEO was dodgy re: union rights.
Will you sign our pledge marking the need for robust staff & a union PG?

Yesterday, our members in New York, D.C., Chicago and across the country walked out to demand a fair contract.
We deserve job security. We deserve to know AI won’t be used to replace us. We know that @propublica can and must do better.

We’re on strike today! Support our fight for a fair contract by NOT visiting the @propublica website or engaging with ProPublica stories today.

Today, we issued a letter — signed by 70% of our unit — to @SteveEngelberg and @RobinSparkman91 asking them to uphold ProPublica’s values of fairness, transparency and accountability at the bargaining table.
ALT Dear Steve and Robin,
Since we unionized in 2023, we have worked hard to reach a contract that honors ProPublica's
mission. In order to fulfill that vision, our values of fairness, transparency and accountability
must apply not only to our reporting but also to our workplace.
Our proposals have sought basic contractual rights that align with those values and exist at
many other unionized newsrooms.
Instead of working with us to codify those rights, you have struck through many of our
proposals, called for broad carve outs and delayed discussion of key provisions such as
protections against layoffs and overwork. Those tactics are not in line with the ProPublica you
say you want to build.
In recent months:
â—Ź You have refused to allow stewards in performance meetings that could lead to
discipline.
â—Ź You have resisted attempts to reform our disciplinary system, rejecting a standard
approach to just cause and measures to improve transparency and clarity.
ALT You rejected our proposal that would ensure our jobs will not be replaced by artificial
intelligence.
What we are seeking is simple: ProPublica management must uphold its values in its own workplace. We expect that your proposals going forward will reflect these shared values.
Sincerely,
ProPublica Guild
It’s time for a fair contract! We have been in negotiations with FLC since August 2024 and we have not been able to reach an agreement. Without a fair contract, our workers cannot make ends meet in NYC!
A statement from the Vox Media Union and @WGAEast on today's layoffs.
ALT Today, we were blindsided by news from Vox Media management that many of our colleagues at Thrillist and Eater would lose their jobs. We are devastated to lose writers and editors who produce invaluable work each and every day, and disgusted by Vox Media’s short-sighted decision making. As always, it is the workers who bear the brunt of management’s poor choices, and this close to the holidays, their callousness is especially galling.
We are incredibly disappointed by management’s decision to decimate Thrillist, a vertical that it has invested almost nothing in since acquiring it from Group Nine. As we have made clear to management with our demand for One Union, One Contract, the WGAE-Vox Media Union views our colleagues at Thrillist as members of our union, and we will make sure that they are made whole in light of management’s decision to essentially shutter this beloved publication.
.@BNBuzz boasts about opening more stores, buying other bookstores & increased sales, but has only offered us an annual 25-cent raise. Their refusal to pay us a fair wage is preventing us from settling a #faircontract. 🧵
We are on ULP strike. We gave @nytimes management months of notice of our strike deadline, we made ourselves available around the clock, but the company has decided that our members aren’t worth enough to agree to a fair contract and stop committing unfair labor practices.
On Wednesday, our unit ratified our first contract with unanimous support and 100% participation. We’re thrilled about what we won together! Let’s get into it.

PBS Thirteen management is demanding the authority to assign our union members' work to non-union employees at their other affiliated stations. That sure sounds like union busting to us. @ThirteenWNET needs to come to the table with REAL proposals that won't decimate the union.
READY TO STRIKE: The votes are in! Our members have approved a strike and are ready to show management that our strength is in our solidarity. #Law360StrikeVote
With a few hours until our contract with @spotify expires and 100% of our unit behind a strike pledge..we’re preparing for all eventualities @WGAEast#FairContractNow
