Looking forward to visit the Digital Art Summit again! Great organization with @SNOWCASH432 and an excellent network day🔥
Introducing the Digital Art Summit 2026 July 15, 2026 | Basel, Switzerland Register: luma.com/e5ln1z3l Presented by ArtMeta in partnership with @arabbankCH, @RtClick_Save, and @lerandomart. Digital art spans more than 70 years of experimentation among art, science, and technology. The Digital Art Summit brings together artists, collectors, curators, and institutional voices for a full day of conversations at the intersection of art history, technology, and cultural infrastructure. Taking place during Art Basel week, the Summit examines how digital art is made, collected, legitimized, and remembered, tracing a line from the earliest computational practices to the systems and protocols shaping artistic production today.

Vera Molnar at @pompidou left and Interface gallery at the right. Come visit us at @ArtBasel to see her art in person. Created a decade before she used a computer, the artwork reveals the seed of the “machine imaginaire”. An artist already thinking in rules, long before programming them. Dm for requests

Digital art didn’t just sneak into art fairs. Museums are getting serious too. @LACMA, @whitneymuseum, @V_and_A, @museumartlight, @ToledoMuseum, and the newly announced Museum of Digital Art (MODA) in Dubai are all building real digital collections and exhibitions.

Only 1 week to go. The first Vera Molnar solo show at @ArtBasel is almost here. Pioneering generative art that helped shape an entire movement. Proud to be part of ZERO 10, in collaboration with Oniris, under the direction of @eli_schein and @trevorpaglen. If you’d like a preview of the works we’re bringing to Basel, send me a DM. #VeraMolnar #ArtBasel #GenerativeArt #AlgorithmicArt

An introduction into Vera Molnar's machine imaginaire. Before computers existed, Vera already thought like one. A mental algorithm, running in silence /1

Her plotter drawings of the 1970s made the logic visible. Each line drawn by machine was the direct output of her written programme. No hand, no brush. Just the faithful execution of her machine imaginaire, now in hardware /5

"The machine, thought to be cold and inhuman, can help to realise what is most subjective and profound in a human being" said Vera Molnar. The machine didn't replace her voice. It amplified it /6

The first generation of computer art is still underpriced. Works from 1965–1985 by the pioneers of generative art go for less than a mid career painter nobody's heard of. That window is closing fast.

In full swing for the solo show of Vera Molnar at @ArtBasel. The booth design is ready. Most of the artworks are packed and ready to send. Now it’s only the background story, some final touches on the postcards, and two calls with journalists today. The happy life of a gallerist😀. #VeraMolnar #ArtBasel #InterfaceGallery #ContemporaryArtPreparations

Nobody gave her a computer. There was none. So she invented one by hand. Before Vera Molnar had access to a machine, she simulated algorithms on paper. Systematic grids, controlled randomness, rule-based compositions. She called it "machine imaginaire." The computer arrived later. The thinking was already there. #GenerativeArt #VeraMolnár #ComputerArt #DigitalArt

Certain artworks survive the test of time. Especially those by the originators who did things for the first time. @supperman: “Brian Eno once said about the Velvet Underground that they sold only 1,000 records, but everybody who bought one started a band. That’s the kind of influence we should look for. Time is the key. 30 years later, people are still asking me about work from the very beginning" That’s real legacy. sleek-mag.com/article/the-in… Thanks @postanika

Even the Pope is into early digital art now😃. A groundbreaking work by pioneer Roman Verostko was presented to him. From the very beginning of computer art in the 1960s to the Vatican🔥. Thanks @ragnar_art for the tip.
