Helping find greener, leaner ways to move goods and people, in an industry that often takes itself far too seriously. Opinions personal. May contain nuts

When left to their own (digital) devices…
Because they cannot see an ideological drum without beating it to within an inch of its life. Alex to his credit notes this as a stepping stone to GBR, not that this development is any kind of an achievement. When there isn’t a rapid massive improvement this will bite back

Ok folks can someone translate latest LinkedIn cliche-speak: “we have a client who’s interested in your vertical”. It was apparently a business enquiry but I’m buggered if I know what they referring to.

It’s one small step for a train, one giant leap for intermodal #GoExpress

Wanted - searches of retail premises in Gloucestershire and Sussex have so far failed to find any leads. After the loss of @Nestle Clusters this could be another attack by the notorious Granola Gang, a bunch of nut jobs hell bent on ruining breakfast. @Quaker any update please?

And guess what folks - Quaker have stopped making them too.... #Oatibix and #Jordans Granola it is then

Massive thanks @BTP for rapid response on 1H06 tonight, daughter was passenger on train and, like her Dad, greatly relieved. Hope the person of interest gets suitable attention

On 23rd March 2026, Japan launches the world's first freight-only Shinkansen, converting a former passenger bullet train into a high-speed cargo carrier by removing all seats to maximize storage space. A total game changer for freight transport.

Anyone wanting to practice belly-dancing should simply stand in the aisle of an Azuma at the lower end of the ECML and let train and track do the rest. Sure beats trying to type or keep the tea in its cup.

And now I’m stuck north of Peterborough for 2 hours as there’s a track fault - I wonder why?….

Particularly P-poor ride quality today - can’t be doing track or Azuma bogies any good. Could someone invent an app that tracks your phone’s accelerometer whilst it’s sitting on a train, we could all then see where the worst parts of the network are

Rail industry budget cuts increasingly apparent - this 377 back to Lewes appears to have had all its dampers removed. Either that or NR is trialling replacement of ballast with blancmange. Or I’ve reached the senility tipping point.

As a proud Hastonian, I’m beginning to think the place will forever be associated with national leaders getting one in the eye for democracy: 1066 Godwinson, Harold 2015 Miliband, Edward 2026 Starmer, Kier

Personal milestone today at Radlett, watching an incredibly professional team turn my rail layout from back in 2004 into reality. Life-affirming and humbling, a dividend for everything thrown at all who worked to get it here. Photos taken from place of safety under supervision

Definition of insanity = doing same thing repeatedly and expecting a different outcome. Can we have a grown-up take charge who can run with scissors and/or start reinstating from Okehampton? Or plant some bats who will then warrant £100m spent on a tunnel bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c9qp…

Must have been British Neanderthals then, who showed their ideas to their cousins across the pond, who then went on to successfully sell the idea around the world, including back to the Brits. Tools clearly made with more precision than BBC spellcheck.

Wondering which of the two has the hardest seats 🤔

Dear @Captain_Deltic I had the opportunity to quote your post to a colleague whilst at a coffee shop on Marsham St. He indicated that, behind me, the person in question was walking out of said establishment with her staff, just as I cleared my last syllable. Possibly of my career
Does anyone on the staff of @Heidi_Labour read the responses to her vacuous tweets on GBR? Does it not occur to them that perhaps there's something wrong with the message? As for explaining it in 28 seconds with a party political minj- broadcast. Who thought that up?

Optics not outcomes - isn’t that the systemic issue with the entire industry from Ministers to managers? See it, say it, shuffle uncomfortably in the hope it’ll all just go away - it’s a good point, and a good title for a future @greensignallers episode?
Another comment in my DMs from a @CrossCountryUK source: “CrossCountry is full of hard working, passionate people who want to deliver great service. They’re being let down by short-sighted decisions, poor communication and leaders that seem far more focused on optics than outcomes.”
