During my internship interview, the recruiter flipped through my CV like he was reviewing a top-secret document. Then he paused, squinted at one line, and said:
"It says here you're the fastest person at doing calculations. Interesting. Let’s test that. What is 2 4 6 – 18 20?"
I answered instantly, with the confidence of someone who has absolutely no idea what they’re doing: "Six"
The room went silent.
The recruiter looked at the other recruiter.
The other recruiter looked at the calculator.
The calculator looked like it wanted to resign.
Finally one of them said:
" It is 14."
I smiled politely, nodded like a wise monk, and replied:
"Yes. But I gave my answer faster"
They stared at me like they had just unlocked a new species of intern.
And honestly?
They kind of did.
