I dislike modern Battlefront for many reasons but holy does it look seriously insane. I swear I can feel the sunrays when walking around on Endor.
A shame the game has so much UI bloat by default. The visuals deserve all the appreciation in the world.

I support this! Always love the festive atmosphere in Dreams. Nostalgic almost. Don't know if I'll be able to make something (even less in time) but I do want to experience that Dreams winter wonderland!

This was inevitable. The #DreamsPS4 retrospective. I wish for Dreams' legacy to be told by those who played it, this is my contribution.
I'll talk about the missteps plenty, but truly my biggest hope is I did justice to Dream's greatness as well.

Alan Wake 2 running at 30fps on PS5 pro because of RT proves how silly this whole thing is getting.
Developers choose the framerate they target. Give them more power and they'll just add more features until it runs at 30 again.

It's crazy how ALL top replies on Twitter posts are blue checkmarks now.
We are long past seeing takes of average people, this is one big engagement farm. At best blue checks are narcissists, at worst they're malicious entities actively trying to stir up unrest.

Went to see Joker 2 to experience a trainwreck, but I loved it instead? It's so dark and insane! I understand it's not what people wanted but personally, judging this for what it is rather than what it isn't, I think it's near perfect.
Been a while since I've been this immersed.

Legally, dunno. But from a ''feel'' standpoint I can't take AI art anymore.
It's not fun. It's just not fun to see computers generate art in milliseconds.
These are dystopian slop generators that WILL be abused. The negatives are damn obvious. When everyone's super, no one is.

Still feels like Dreams has desensitized me to gaming lol. I have never gotten my appetite for multiplayer games back, and most single player games I get bored of in hours.
Nothing compares to the thrill of creating and sharing art with the world.

So this is what Playstation is now. TLOU TLOU TLOU, Spiderman Spiderman Spiderman, Horizon Horizon Horizon, GoW GoW GoW, GoT GoT GoT. 1 release every 5 years if we're lucky.
Can we get back to 2 year dev cycles and new IP please? I'm officially done.

Randomly have a huge spider in the house, and it's moments like these where I curse the priorities of the human race.
How tf do we have nukes but not a reliable way to catch these menaces without a heart attack inducing standoff.

An interesting result of diminishing returns in hardware I haven't thought about before is that Nintendo is slowly going to catch up and run modern 3rd party games.
If Switch 2 is PS4/PS4 pro level it'll run Cyberpunk, Battlefield, R6Siege etc. In handheld mode? Gonna be OP.

€800 PS5 Pro 😂 My 2 cents: we have reached the end of hardware upgrades. Hardware means nothing anymore. AAA gameplay has stagnated. Hard. PS5 games are PS4 games are PS3 games.
No PS5 game that runs poorly can be blamed on ambition, just on poor optimization.

Diminishing returns is the best way to put it. It's done. We could have high end PS4 graphics at 4K60. Why isn't that enough? Why are studios hellbent on going down to upscaled 900p30 just for a measly 5% improvement over PS4?

It just comes across as so greedy to want more power, when clearly none of the power has been resulting in better games. Only in excuses to optimize less. Games today are buggier and less ambitious, featuring worse AI and physics than 15 years ago.
No hardware will fix that.
