The first thing I did after launching this campaign was meet with labor leaders in the Quad Cities. Joni Ernst has abandoned working families. I’m running to stand up for them every single day.

May is Mental Health Awareness Month. We believe that mental well-being is just as important as physical health on the job site. Even the toughest workers can face mental health challenges.📞 If you or someone you know is struggling, help is available. Call, text, or chat #988.

Today is National #Apprenticeship Day & there’s no better time to recognize who’s been leading the way—union building trades. For over a century, unions have built the gold standard in apprenticeship programs: debt-free, hands-on training that leads to real careers and great pay.

Every bridge, school, hospital, and data center built by our members starts with this world-class training. Union apprenticeships are more than a job—they’re a proven investment in people, communities, and the next generation of builders.

I found another DOGIE! SF603 would end in infrastructure projects having to get redone, spending more of your money. It was introduced and passed past both houses in a rush. Ask the Gov to veto it.

A week later, Rep. Kaufmann finally acknowledges that his legislation doesn't just attack unions, it attacks ALL apprenticeship programs. quadcitiesbusiness.com/tri-c…

Please call the Governor and ask her to veto this bill. Telephone line: 515-281-5211.🚨🚨 “This bill may have serious unintended consequences, but we’ve rushed it through the process on less than 24-hour notice and nobody can seem to explain why.”

🚨🚨 What is so wrong with requiring would-be developers who are asking for millions of dollars in incentives to make commitments to safety and workplace training when it comes to the projects they want subsidized by the public? Please ask the Governor to veto! 515-281-5211.🚨

Happy Monday to everyone… EXCEPT contractors who “can’t find skilled workers” but refuse to hire #union. Weird how that works. #MondayMotivation #MondayMood #1U

“Over regulating in building codes can actually make things less safe because people don’t follow the codes and they do it without building permits and they do it on the side,” Webster said. 🤔At least we agree not following the codes makes us less safe? radioiowa.com/2025/01/21/bui…

The reasoning here is bizarre, but we appreciate this legislator acknowledges codes & permits are important & that folks should probably be licensed. Our advice: better enforcement of codes & licensing! That is what makes our jobs safer & outcomes better for the quality of work.
