Ghanaian national who haf 27 previous convictions and active deportation order went on to rape woman.
In February 2022, Arthur Bradford (37), a Ghanaian national who had been living in Ireland for about 16 years, raped a woman in Dublin after she had been socializing at a nightclub with friends.
Bradford, of Charleville Road, Rathmines, Dublin 6, met the victim outside a club.
He lured her back to his flat under false pretenses. He was convicted by a Central Criminal Court jury in May 2026 and sentenced to 6.5 years in prison on June 15, 2026. He has 21 previous convictions, including for public order offences, road traffic matters, theft, and money laundering.
Key details often downplayed or omitted in initial mainstream reporting include Bradford’s ethnicity/nationality (Ghanaian/African migrant) and the fact that he was subject to an active deportation order at the time of the offence.
Court evidence confirmed he remained in Ireland despite this order.
The victim reported feeling “empty” and traumatized after the assault. Bradford claimed consensual sex in his police interview. DNA evidence from semen linked him to the crime.
