C’est la fin de la Réunion des chefs de mission. Au cours des trois derniers jours, les diplomates du Canada se sont concentrés sur la mise en œuvre de nos priorités en matière de politique étrangère : diversifier nos partenariats, renforcer nos capacités stratégiques et bâtir des coalitions capables de favoriser une action collective. Dans un monde de plus en plus incertain, ces efforts contribueront à protéger les intérêts du Canada et à créer des occasions économiques pour les Canadiennes et les Canadiens. 🇨🇦

Having worked at Global Affairs Canada for over five years, first as Parliamentary Secretary and now as Minister, I have seen firsthand the incredible impact that Canada’s ambassadors, high commissioners, consuls general, and senior officials around the world make. Today, at the Global Heads of Mission Meeting in Ottawa, we discussed how Canada’s global network can help open new markets, attract investment, and support Canadian businesses in creating more opportunities for workers across the country. As we work to grow and diversify trade, our missions abroad play a vital role in helping Canadian companies compete, expand, and succeed on the global stage.

Après avoir travaillé à Affaires mondiales Canada pendant plus de cinq ans, d’abord comme secrétaire parlementaire et maintenant comme ministre, j’ai vu de près l’impact remarquable que les ambassadeurs, hauts-commissaires, consuls généraux et hauts fonctionnaires du Canada ont partout dans le monde. Aujourd’hui, à Ottawa, lors de la Rencontre des chefs de mission mondiaux, nous avons discuté de la façon dont le réseau mondial du Canada peut aider à ouvrir de nouveaux marchés, à attirer des investissements et à soutenir les entreprises canadiennes afin de créer plus d’occasions pour les travailleurs partout au pays. Alors que nous travaillons à faire croître et à diversifier notre commerce, nos missions à l’étranger jouent un rôle essentiel pour aider les entreprises canadiennes à concurrencer, à prendre de l’expansion et à réussir sur la scène mondiale.
