So NOW the Forever Canadian petition was a legislative petition and NOT a referendum. FFS she’s been saying non stop that 700k Albertans asked for a referendum when she knew all along that was a lie. I hate her. Not a single redeeming quality.
Premier Danielle Smith is asked if she will commit to @CorbLund 's referendum question word for word. She says Lund checked the legislative option box so it will go to a committee like the Forever Canada petition to decide what happens.

The UCP has chosen to ignore the voices in Alberta concerned about healthcare, insurance costs, private medical, wasteful spending and more for 7 years Eva. But they chose to listen to a small minority playing the perpetual victim. Fuck off with your preaching
Demanding that citizens have a fully developed plan before they are allowed to voice concerns misses the point entirely. Citizens are not the ones being paid to govern, develop policy, or solve public problems. Political leaders, advisors (like Ken purports to be) bureaucrats, and public institutions are. You know all the people paid by the public, to supposedly work in the public interest?! If the people who shape policy actually cared about the future or the public interest, they would spend less time dismissing citizens and more time listening to the growing frustration of people who feel unheard, unrepresented, and increasingly disconnected from the institutions that claim to serve them. Instead, we get endless political theatre, partisan talking points, and childish finger-pointing. More noise. Less substance. What many citizens are asking for is not complicated: meaningful discussion, honest debate, accountability, and a genuine willingness to listen. Is that really so hard Ken, Jason, Tyler, Thomas and friends? Where are the serious and sophisticated conversations about the future of this country? Because from where I sit, too many of the people shaping policy seem more interested in defending the system than addressing the concerns of the people it is supposed to serve. That should concern all of us. In fact, this is just embarrassing to watch.

Look what the Carney Liberals have done to America.
Breaking News: U.S. inflation surged to a 4.2% annual rate in May, as higher energy prices put more pressure on the economy. nyti.ms/4vcLmYs

When exactly did Poilievre listen to “all sides” on this issue let alone in his entire political life?
Thank you @PierrePoilievre for listening to all sides of the debate in Alberta. Blaming Albertans is not the answer. The status quo is also not the answer Albertans deserve. Ottawa needs to step up and work with Albertans on solutions that give us more autonomy and let us grow our economy. @CPC_HQ

"I don't think there's anybody more committed to Edmonton than Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl... I expect the next contract to be a seven-year extension." @Bob_Stauffer joins @Mattymar89 and @FutaMichael to discuss the ongoing conversation surrounding McDavid's future.

Hiring Mike Babcock is a troubling sign for the Oilers. It signals an organization stuck in the past, clinging to old names instead of embracing new ideas.

Norway didn’t privatize the profits you potato.
Norway found oil. Built a $1.7 trillion sovereign wealth fund. Alberta found oil. Sent the money to Ottawa. Independence means we keep what we build.

Let’s never forget that Mike Babcock healthy scratched Mike Modano so that he didn’t reach 1,500 NHL games played, finishing at 1,499. No need for him back in the league

The good thing about all of this Oilers Babcock talk is that Calgary Sports Radio and streams will finally have something to talk about.

If Connor McDavid agrees with hiring Babcock and things go terribly wrong he should wear that outcome and not bail on the team that, let’s be honest, he’s had a great amount of influence in creating.

If the owner and management of the Edmonton Oilers weren’t currently employed by the franchise I’m confident they would be offered positions in Donald Trump’s cabinet
Sources: The Edmtn Oilers are consulting with the NHLPA to see if there are objections that must be resolved before potentially hiring Mike Babcock. Amid allegations of invading players privacy, Babcock resigned in CBJ as Head Coach in 2023. Further investigation may be required.
