New #megalodon paper! 🦈
This work further applies the new "slender" hypothesis to some of the basic aspects of megalodon, including suggesting a lemon shark-like body.

"Pacific Sleeper Sharks" form Southwest Atlantic?
Well actually they are Southern sleeper shark(Somniosus antarcticus).
By the way, this 600cm specimen also the largest Southern sleeper shark we have ever found.

A large reef shark(Total length estimate ＞2m) scared away 350 spinner dolphins. Very interesting.

It seems that the largest individuals are all male sharks, but this is normal for blue sharks.

Himalayasaurus tibetensis, the highest-altitude fossil vertebrates ever found in the world (4800 m in the area of Mt. Qomolangma). With around 15 m in body length, Himalayasaurus is probably among the largest macropredatory ichthyosaur known from the Late Triassic of China.

Our new paper is out and OA!
We assessed the global elasmobranch functional diversity, identified new conservation priorities including hotspots around oceanic islands, & found elasmobranch biodiversity not to be protected by the current MPA network.
