I am tired of having the same conversation every single year. How many more times do we have to watch Liga MX eliminate MLS in the CCC semifinals before we admit the problem isn't just the talent?
The parity experiment in MLS is killing its potential. We’re watching MLS teams walk into these regional battles with one hand tied behind their back because of an outdated, suffocating salary cap.
This week was the ultimate proof. You can’t compete with the depth of Liga MX when your roster-building is a puzzle of GAM, TAM, and DP slots.
LET THE OWNERS SPEND.
If an owner wants to drop $100M to build a super-team, let them. If they want to bring in five world-class players instead of three, why are we stopping them?
You get growth and global relevance. through attractive, high-level fútbol not by forcing every team to be equally mediocre for the sake of balance.
Loosen the reigns. Bring in the talent. Let the big markets act like big markets. Until the salary cap evolves, we aren't closing the gap.
Give us the freedom to actually compete.
