The MS & HS teacher cohorts of the I-STEAM Integrating Art into STEM project kicked off with a design challenge to create sculptures that integrate solar power. The project included lessons on design thinking, chemistry, and using 3D printers and laser cutters in the classroom.

Like many of you, the news of Frank Borman’s passing is tough to hear. Frank was a NASA institution, his life dedicated to aviation and space – from fighter pilot, to test pilot, to astronaut and beyond. His Apollo 8 Christmas reading of Genesis still echoes. Frank had the right stuff and he will be missed. Godspeed Frank.

We are saddened to learn of the passing of Gemini and Apollo astronaut Frank Borman. Borman’s passion for flight led him to service with the U.S. Air Force and NASA. He was command pilot of Gemini 7 and became one of the first humans to orbit the Moon as commander of Apollo 8.
