Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN) Pays Advisory Accreditation Visit to Jimoh Babalola University, Ilorin. Jimoh Babalola University (JBU), Ilorin, on Wednesday, June 10th 2026, received a delegation from the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN) on an Advisory Accreditation Visit to the University’s Nursing Science programme. The delegation was led by Dr. Ndagi Alhassan, Registrar/Chief Executive Officer of the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria, and included Mrs. Olaniru Oluwaseun (Special Assistant to the Registrar), Obatade Kareem Ola (Senior Analyst, Abuja), Aminu Shehu (NANWM Chairman, Kwara State), Onawola Jelilat J. (NMCN Zonal Office, Kwara State), and Ahman Aminat (DNS, Kwara State). The team was warmly received by the Official-in-Charge of the Vice-Chancellor’s Office, Professor Muftau Adeniyi Ijaiya, alongside the Founder and members of the University management. During the visit, the Council delegation assessed the University’s preparedness and commitment towards delivering quality nursing education in line with national standards. The team expressed satisfaction with the University’s vision, academic environment, infrastructural development, and dedication to excellence in healthcare education. Members of the delegation commended the management of Jimoh Babalola University for its commitment to building a strong foundation for professional training and for creating a conducive environment that supports teaching, learning, and student development. The Council team also appreciated the warm reception and hospitality extended to them throughout the visit, describing the University’s atmosphere as welcoming, professional, and reflective of its commitment to excellence. Speaking during the engagement, the Registrar/CEO of NMCN, encouraged the University to sustain its efforts in maintaining quality standards and continuous improvement as it advances its healthcare programmes. In his remarks, Professor Muftau Ijaiya thanked the delegation for the visit, guidance, and valuable observations. He reaffirmed the University’s commitment to producing competent, ethical, and highly skilled healthcare professionals capable of contributing meaningfully to Nigeria’s health sector and national development. The Advisory Accreditation Visit marks another significant milestone in the growth of Jimoh Babalola University and further underscores the institution’s dedication to academic excellence, quality assurance, and professional education.
