Clean energy & housing delivery are not in conflict — but only if design & planning process is fit to handle both simultaneously. The question is not if we build greener homes. It is do we have the governance systems to do it at pace, at scale, & without compromising quality.

The gov’s aim is 1.5m homes by 2029. But the solar requirement is 40% of GFA & the HBF estimates 60% of homes can’t meet this. That means individual assessment. Adding to a stretched planning system, without a process or resourcing, may create a bottleneck that kills delivery.
