The Padres couldâve moved Jake Cronenworth on the 60 day IL retro to May 5th to make room on the 40 man rather than DFA Adcock but didnât. This leads me to believe that they feel he will be back by July 4th.

We have placed C Freddy Fermin on the 7-day concussion IL and selected the contract of C Blake Hunt (No. 26) from Triple-A El Paso. To make room on the 40-man roster, we have designated RHP Ty Adcock for assignment.

Mason Miller leads every reliever in baseball with a 119 proStuff , and the 1.01 ERA makes it worse for hitters. Helsley is the closest threat at 114 but has a five-point gap to close. This race is not close yet.

OF Jase Bowen has been called up by the Padres, per source.
He was a 2019 11th round pick from an Ohio high school thatâs now set to make his big league debut.
Bowen has hit 13 HR and posted a .962 OPS in AAA in his first season for the Padres after six years with the Pirates.

I went a layer deeper to understand how and noticed that these 4 teams donât seem to be as concerned with walks but they limit hits. It seems they tend to navigate lineups better limiting the damage the opponents best hitters can do.

Lastly, to further highlight their damage suppression, you can see that 3 of the 4 teams rank among the leaders in HR allowed with the Brewers and Yankees well ahead of the rest.
Iâm sure some smarter folks can better explain how theyâve gone about suppressing damage so well.
