Uber passenger: "Love your Tesla. But how often do you have to find a place to charge it?" Me: "I never have to find any place, I don't use public chargers. I charge out of my garage wall, just like you do your iPhone at home." Uber passenger: "Well how much does that increase your power bill?" Me: "I don't know, how much does your iPhone increase your power bill? Uber passenger: "Uhhhhhh, well, I don't know." Me: "Yeah, me neither. It's that negligible and unimportant." Uber passenger: "Ok, but what about battery fires? I know they catch fire all the time. How many batteries have you gone through?" Me: "12"

I really like the new pop up screen in 14.3.4, as you get close to your destination reminding you to choose your desired drop off/parking style. This is perfect for Uber!

I’m charging and the Elon protesters yelled at me “sell your Tesla”. I’m not exactly sure who they want me to sell it to.

Me: “Grok, take this picture of me and keep as realistic as possible, but smooth out any rough edges and don’t be afraid to flatter me.” Grok: “Here you go” Me: “Grok, I don’t remember including Wilford Brimley anywhere in my prompt”

My brother in law: “What the hell are you doing? Oh my God! We’re going 45 mph and about to miss the departures ramp” Me: “Relax. I’m just unbuckling and getting out of the seat for a quick second so I can keep my streak.” 😂😂😂
Replying to @JCChristopher
I've learned how to keep those streaks. Just unfasten your seatbelt. The car will drop out of self-driving and complain, but allow you to drive where you need (with limits) to park it. Your streak will stay intact.

Timelapse of Tesla FSD (14.3.3) Taking My Brother-In-Law to the Houston Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) and Return Trip Home. Terminal A Departures ramp messed up my streak. Hopefully one day the airport construction is done and proper navigation can be set again. This one wasn't on Tesla navigation, it was on the city of Houston.

I made two thumbnails for YouTube with Grok Imagine and it told me I'm done for the day. I am Premium . I just started making thumbnails recently, and generally don't make but one every other day or so, so I didn't realize the daily limits were this restrictive on Grok Imagine.

I watched this interview with Dario and Daniella on Bloomberg this week and honestly I didn't realize what a character Dario is. He's like that liberal professor you had in high school or college who's really smart but also a little eccentric this type of guy has never been put in charge of a trillion dollar company. the culture of anthropic makes so much more sense after just listening to Dario speak for a while. One idea I'm playing with, and maybe I have this wrong, is that the race to create super intelligence has made the "researchers" — the few people in this world who understand these models and have ideas about how to improve them — the most sought after employees in the world. They have an enormous amount of power and leverage. We've all heard whispers of the kinds of compensation packages that have been thrown around. Anthropic really feels like a lab run by the researchers. And the researchers have so much leverage and power right now that if they don't want to work for a Larry Page, a Sam Altman or an Elon Musk they don't have to. Rather than working for someone else with their own goals and motivations, the researchers had the option of trying to run a company themselves. That's basically what happened when Dario decided he didn't want to work for Sam Altman anymore. That's probably why talent density and talent retention are so high at Anthropic. They still have all their co-founders working at the company, which is very unusual for a company of that size. In tech, when you put a bunch of smart people together and let them work together magic happens. Dario seems like kind of a strange guy, and he's definitely not your typical Mag 7 CEO. But he seems to have created a culture that's led to strong execution. It's possible that as Anthropic grows, especially as they face the scrutiny of Wall Street ahead of their IPO, it may outgrow Dario and investors might start calling for another CEO. The other AI companies have leaders — Musk, Altman, the Google guys — who are well versed in dealing with investors and Wall Street. There will inevitably be pressure, especially after going public, for Anthropic to be lead by someone who will please investors. But if Dario goes, the company risks killing the culture that has given its models a technical edge.

I grew up mostly raised by my grandparents — staunch Union Democrats. My grandfather (born 1901) started working at age 11 on the new oil refineries near Spindletop in Beaumont, TX, right after that legendary gusher. He spent 55 years as a manual laborer and die-hard union worker, helping build America’s energy infrastructure before retiring in 1967. He came home beat every day. Work was tough back then, but so were the men. He loved this country, loved seeing it grow and prosper. He didn’t hate the men who signed his paycheck — though the union fought them when needed. Both sides were made of tough men. They fought, but they also shared the goal of building something bigger. He loved Horatio Alger stories. He loved progress. My grandmother said he was glued to the TV during the Moon landing. He was proud when I joined the Marines at 18. He didn’t just love America — he wanted it to win. He was the Democratic party of the 1930s-1960s. He's the man who taught me all of the values I carry with me today. I don’t recognize today’s Democratic Party. It feels completely foreign to me, divorced from the values I learned at my grandparents feet. The Democrats at the Carpenters Union Hall where my grandfather would meet from time to time were strong men, body and mind, and they loved this country. Most had served and fought for this country. Today’s Democrats seem like weak miserable people who hate progress. This hit home for me today when I see DNC voices on X attacking Elon and everything he builds, when they should be proud that all of this is happening in America. I’m proud to stand with this Tesla and SpaceX community. That is my party. Not Democrat, not Republican, but Tesla/SpaceX nerds who couldn't get nailed in woodshop. We have our squabbles for sure. But we’re all excited about the future. We want America to lead in AI, robotics, autonomy, and space exploration. I am so proud to throw my lot in with you crazy people.

Hey @chrisggood, here's another dude trying to tell me how to read financial statements. 🤡 Why do accountants f**k so well? Because we're experts at double entry. 😈

You recognize that one represents actual currency while the other functions as printed currency. SpaceX has not yet generated profit, a milestone unlikely within at least the next decade.
