Competitive balance is definitely a problem in MLB. You have teams with top 10 payrolls frequently winning the World Series while the other teams are simply just an extended farm system. I don’t think a cap is necessarily the answer, I think contract lengths are the bigger issue.

8 of 10 were top-10 in payroll; only two (2017 Astros, 2021 Braves) were outside it. High spending correlates strongly with success, though it's not a guarantee.

Guardians pitchers look good today - Oakie’s stuff was crazy good.
Angels pitcher Nate Snead had great stuff too.
Guardians are winning like they do in the MLB: solid pitching, and 1 big inning offensively.
