To my HUGE following (I joke but, like, I actually have 100s of followers now, that's pretty cool!) this account will just be a personal one going forward, but I'll still probs be tweeting about EDI, health promotion, dogs, 🇺🇸 politics, etc.(I won't be crushed if you unfollow🙂)

By the way - the wobble room is a place to vent, cry, laugh, share, speak honestly and be heard - that's what I mean by "healing". It's not always feel-good like today, & it doesn't disappear problems - but it helps.@misssdjohnson and @adahui1 will continue to facilitate weekly!
Today I've had time to reflect on joy, in my last three days at @UniofNottingham @UoN_SHS. It was my last BME Student Network weekly wobble room, which has been a really healing and inspiring meeting to help facilitate, and today's theme was "cultivating joy during COVID-19". 1/

It was also my last Extenuating Circumstances panel, which is made up of a great group of staff where we often discuss really heavy subjects but I always leave feeling energised and supported by my colleagues. I'm going to miss this role, the fantastic people I've been able to 4/

work with, & the terrific students I've gotten to know over the years. Student Experience Manager can be a nebulous role but its ambiguity has meant I've had the opportunity to do some great things (big & small) and I'm able to leave this job after four years feeling proud. END❤️

I would LOVE to go to the supermarket and see more than 3 other people wearing masks while I'm there. Hasn't happened yet. Come on people, WEAR A MASK!! I know it's getting warm, I know the restrictions are easing...but that doesn't mean #COVID19 has disappeared! #Masks4All
#InfectionPrevention practitioners - how is your Blood Pressure this morning? 🤔 :-). #MasksForAll #COVID19

“The booklet addresses many issues that have been further exacerbated during the Covid-19 pandemic, such as families being asked if potential Covid patients are ‘pale’ or if their lips ‘turned blue’. These are not useful descriptors for a black patient and, as a result(cont'd)1/2
This came up in our @UoN_SHS LCF years ago and I hope that students will be able to access this now! @MedicineUoN

their care is compromised from the first point of contact. It is essential we begin to educate others so they are aware of such differences and the power of the clinical language we currently use. 2/3
