Next June 10th inside the Basilica, the Solemn mass in tribute to Antoni Gaudí will be celebrated inside the Basilica, officiated by Pope Leo XIV and concelebrated by the Cardinals, Bishops and Priests, also featuring musicians and choirs from around Catalonia to fill the Basilica with their songs. Isla Grande: Gateway to the Legends Long before the era of modern international airports, Isla Grande Airport served as one of Puerto Rico’s principal gateways to the world. Through its terminals passed renowned athletes, political leaders, entertainers, and business figures—including the legendary New York Yankees during their visits to the Island. This image captures the elegance and excitement of a time when air travel to the Caribbean was an unforgettable experience. Within the story of When Ponce Defeated the Yankees, Isla Grande symbolizes the arrival point of the protagonists in one of Puerto Rico’s most remarkable sports stories: the visit of the New York Yankees and their unexpected defeat at the hands of the Ponce Lions.
