Sure, "3 feet minimum", but it doesn't instill much confidence at all when the pole its mounted on is so bent. #VisionZero
ALT A road appears with a somewhat narrow sidewalk at its right side. To the right of the sidewalk and near a telephone pole, a sign post appears to be bent about 30 degrees. On the pole are mounted two signs: The top one reads "An Amtrak Served Community" with the Amtrak logo. The bottom sign reads "STATE LAW - 3 FEET MIN TO PASS BICYCLES OR PEDESTRIANS".
Transit-friendly soccer? It exists in San Diego—an electric atmosphere earlier tonight at the @sandiegowavefc match.
ALT Photo taken from the upper sections of Snapdragon Stadium in San Diego, looking down on an active soccer match, surrounded by relatively full stands. In the background, an elevated trolley line is seen with a red train traversing it. The sky is mostly clear with a light orange approaching sunset.
ALT Streams of people, many dressed in green, head in the streetside entrance to North Station in Boston.
ALT Pedestrians, many dressed in green, cross congested Canal Street in front of North Station.
ALT Boston Celtics fans ascend stairs and escalators. On the upper level, a digital screen reads "BOS vs DAL". On the lower level, wayfinding reads "NORTH STATION, COMMUTER RAIL, AMTRAK".
There is someone on my Green Line train wearing a green top and a green baseball cap…with the Yankees logo on it… Tricky. Send help. #Boston#GoCeltics
Got to use the new #SomervilleMA Community Path on/off-ramp at Poplar Street yesterday.
Very handy shortcut for accessing #MBTA East Somerville from south—depending on location, it makes for a viable alternative to Union Sq Station. Plus, there are @RideBluebikes at the bottom!
ALT Non-permanent pedestrian ramp leading up to a multi-use path.
ALT Off/on-ramp leading from/to a multi-use path. Beside the pedestrian/cycling path is a fence separating it from railroad tracks. An MBTA Green Line train passes in the background.
Birth of a new cycle track, Washington St between Beacon St and Lincoln Park in @SomervilleCity! (Just…hopefully something can be done about that utility pole!) #BikeLanes
ALT Photo of a sidewalk and cycle track under construction, temporarily as fifty and with assorted cones and barricades. Both are adjacent to motor vehicle lanes.
ALT Cycle track is under construction as direct beside newly-paved sidewalk and a floating bus stop. The bus stop sign is laying on the ground. A telephone pole sites within the future bike lane.
The (partial, during weekday peaks for now) reopening of South Attleboro station on Monday! All stopping trains use Track 1.
ALT MBTA Commuter Rail train stopped on a low-level platform. A Market Basket is seen in the distance.
ALT A wayfinding sign at South Attleboro Commuter Rail station listing the name of the station.
ALT Mini-high platform at a Commuter Rail station, with digital signs displaying the next-scheduled train on Track 1. A sign also says “DANGER WILL NOT CLEAR MAN ON SIDE OF CAR”.
ALT Cyclists of a wide age range (include one child in a carrier) ride across the non-parking width of one side of a city street lined with mid-rise buildings.
ALT Well-stocked aisle of assorted egg cartons within a grocery store. Several people are seen shopping in the background next to other, refrigerated sections.
ALT Portion of the beef section within a grocery store. Surrounded by other cuts of meat, there exists several packages of corned beef brisket, along with three red, heart-shaped plastic containers with raw beef inside.
Time to ease back into work from the holidays... Unless you're in transit operations and have been working hard all through the holidays to get the rest of us around 💪—ever grateful. #HappyNewYear#Bus2024
ALT MBTA bus 2024, operating Route 91 toward Sullivan, enters an intersection at night with its headlights on.
Last week the National Transportation Safety Board recommended that speed-limiting technology be required on all new cars.
It’s an excellent idea. @USDOT should do it.

Digging this pop-up bike lane along Park Street, Dorchester, during the ongoing Red/Mattapan Line outage. This stretch of the street looks plenty wide, and there isn’t a second vehicular lane striped to begin with. #Boston
ALT A wide bike lane has been demarcated on a street with tall, orange safety cones and a sign directing cars to keep left and bikes “only” to keep right.

ALT A sign posted on a traffic signal post direct bicyclists to turn right for the route to “FAIRMOUNT LINE -> SOUTH STATION”. It is noted that the train is “$0” and, in multiple languages, that service is fast with trains every 45 minutes beginning at around 5 AM.
