Finally got around to this past year's phantom yield loss data. Here are the last two years of results, same 9 hybrids tested in both years.
Yield loss is real, but it is not kernel respiration on the plant. It is either harvest loss or yield monitor calibration variation.

Anyone with an X9 interested in a longer handle for the rear ladder door? Could get a few more made if there is any interest. Way easier to swing the door down.
