I was obsessed with David Hockney when i was in art school. Rest in peace, David. šŸ’”
Remembering David Hockney, he was kind and always had a sparkle in his eye. He never stopped experimenting and is one of the finest painters of our generation.

I fear Widow’s Bay is gonna end on a cliffhanger. That’s why they haven’t announced renewal yet, they don’t want to give that away.

Need everyone's help: We're casting a horror film from one of our writers. The great Jenn Wexler is directing. We have financing dependent on cast. The lead is a 25-30 white female. Please give us suggestions! Remember, they have to have bankability. Thank you and please RT!

Lately i keep hearing this narrative: ā€œThe future is YOUNG filmmakers making films that are NUTS!ā€ And while i love youth and NUTS! as much as the next guy, I just dont think that should be the benchmark.

If someone is cooking bacon and asks if you want some and you say yeah, don’t you think it’s weird if they say ā€œYou want a full piece?ā€ WHO WANTS A HALF A PIECE OF BACON?

HOKUM !! Every bit as freaky and wonderful as Backrooms. Love a good folk horror. Damian McCarthy is consistently fantastic. šŸ˜

It’s so apparent when something is written solely to ā€œsell to a marketā€. Write horror if you love horror and you understand it. Otherwise, don’t.
Horror is the easiest genre to succeed in. If you want a smart shortcut to success, make horror with this understanding- The premise of the story is all that matters. It is a well known truth that horror fans are the easiest to sell to. The movie can basically suck, but if you deliver on the premise, they’re happy. Expect to see nonstop little horror films now. Go easy or go home.

"I had three consultations (notes and Zoom calls) with Finish Line and each one pushed me to improve my script in ways I hadn’t imagined before we started. Jenny’s notes are dense, smart and actionable. The Zoom calls add another layer of value - we always uncovered something new. What was really special, was Jenny’s feedback on what felt fresh and original - and what didn’t. You cannot know it unless you read thousands of unpublished scripts each year." - Dariusz Kraszewski finishlinescriptcomp.com/

There’s this weird thing that happens with projects where it gets to a certain point & the producer (or whoever you’re working with) sends an email & the title is misspelled. Never fails, that’s an omen that the whole film has fallen off a cliff.

Kristen Stewart wants to direct another movie by the end of the year "and put it on f---ing YouTube." "Whatever money we make from that will be what I spend on my next one and there will be a trickle-down effect. I just don’t want to talk to these bros anymore ... I love Hollywood, I love big movies, [but] I don’t think I’d be very good at making them. I want to make weird s---. And I’m fully OK doing that in a kind of insulated, bizarre way. But I don’t want to do the thing where I wait five years for someone to give me $1 million to make something. I’m going to make it f---ing tomorrow." wp.me/pc8uak-1lHhm4

Kristen Stewart on how the Hollywood studio system is not set up for artists: "Are we going to like, wait to be chosen like a f---ing golden ticket? Like, 'I got the golden ticket! I can make one f---ing movie!' We need to make more work. There needs to be more work, more output, more connection and less fear and less f---ing bureaucracy and also less making billionaires more f---ing billionaires. It’s driving me insane. We spend so much money, we just like hemorrhage money making stuff in a system that honestly is not designed for us." wp.me/pc8uak-1lHhm4
