Anyone have any CRISPR CURE lab procedures they know works & won't be really expensive? I would like to do a lab where students conduct CRISPR, observe altered phenotypes, and then sequence wt and mut individuals to confirm changes. 1/2

I'm thinking possibly butterflies, fruit flies, or Arabidopsis. Any experience with any of these? I'd love to do butterflies but I don't know if I'd be able to do everything in the semester. 2/2

Thanks to @AmericanAir's inability to maintain their aircraft or have backups so as not to cause delays, we will be arriving home at 4am, at best, & my SO will be working on 3hrs of sleep This is the 2nd time this shit has happened to me. Inexcusable No more American Air for me

Replying to @AmericanAir
@AmericanAir strikes again. We've got a flight from SFO to ORD that has been, so far, delayed 5.5 hrs. It means we get into ORD at 1am & then home at 4am *at earliest*. We tried to change flights & the best solution was standby on the next flight (but our bags still arrive at 1)

My SO works at 7am & if she can't be functional, she will have to forfeit $150 of pay. @AmericanAir's solution was to put us on standby, refuse to ship our bag to our home, & give us each $12 for meals in a very expensive airport. If there's a worse airline, I've not seen it 😡

Thrilled to see my master's paper is officially out! 🐸 More conspicuous green and black poison frogs not necessarily hold more alkaloids in their skin. We also found interesting frog behavioral differences across Costa Rican populations. academic.oup.com/cz/advance-…

Has anyone used HotShot DNA extraction before? I came across it and it seems like it'd be great for teaching in undergraduate labs where time and experience is limited. A two-step, 30 minute DNA extraction seems too good to be true.

But, importantly, humans don't affect climate change. This statement is more of an indictment of the people who voted for her than they are for her. Seriously, Georgia, do better
Yes they can control the weather. It’s ridiculous for anyone to lie and say it can’t be done.

When did "slide deck" become a thing? I have never heard it prior to the last year, and now I hear it pretty commonly. Do people just not say PPT or Slides presentation anymore?
