A painfully portrayal - but unfortunately with many truths. For value based care to succeed, we as physicians need to do more to drive change and self-regulate. If not it will be done to us. @azaleakim @TheWonkologist nytimes.com/2019/09/11/opini…
Big news from @BlueCrossNC today! Average pre-subsidy ACA rates for #NorthCarolina individuals will decrease in all 100 counties, with a statewide 5.5% average rate decrease for 2020 #ACA individual plans. bit.ly/2020_aca_ratesA

Excited to (finally) share the results of our @MGHMedicine QI project where we found that hiring discharge schedulers increases appointment attendance. Good for patients, good for residents, good for health system! authors.elsevier.com/a/1ZUcr…
Yes. You read that correctly. Decrease. Value-based care works - and we will continue to push the envelope as fast and hard as we can. Now is the time for payment innovation that can make health care better, safer and more affordable.
Well, so long @dukemedicine. Truly the honor of a lifetime to train here for #MedPeds and serve as @vadurham#CRQS. Can't express my gratitude for the teachers, mentors and lifelong friendships I have gained. Excited to move on to join @BJC_HealthCare this summer.
Great perspective by @ClayDellMed on the financial difficulties facing AMCs trying to lead in the shift to value-based-care. "any changes threatening the margins from clinical care will affect the entire mission of an AMC" ja.ma/31J7JYg@azaleakim@kevin_p_shah
Insightful reflections. Clinicians spend their careers identifying and addressing needs of others- and ignoring your own is considered a virtue. IMHO this tells us we need more practicing clinicians in leadership (not fewer administrators) to refocus our systems.
"Corporate medicine has milked just about all the “efficiency” it can out of the system. But one resource that seems endless—and free—is the professional ethic of medical staff members.” My @nytimes op-ed about the daily exploitation of doctors & nurses buff.ly/2IqGWHs
