I’m not a great one for giving ‘life tips’… but my last week has been totally full of music, composing & recording my own in the day, then going to varied concerts every evening. I live & breathe music & I can tell you life is full of joy! Surround yourself with music!👍🙏🎼

As previously stated, practice time is precious, so multi-purpose... warming fingers, harmony/chords muscle memory refresh & experimentation. All so that these elements can be at my real-time command when improvising.

Time is always the issue, needing to develop a high degree of expertise in numerous areas is very demanding...just maintaining instrument technique is a challenge! Whenever I'm drumming I feel like I need to do more piano practice, esp when performing 'Tatumesque' live improv!

Around 40 yrs ago I wrote a piece for the RPO, correctly in 12/8…when we came to record it in the studio session, most of the players wanted me to rewrite their parts ( which I did in my lunch break) in 4/4 triplets as they reckoned it was easier to read!!😂🤦♂️
