Cringey as it sounds, I know all to well what people keep hidden. Little dreams and wishes that never see the light of day.
It was made for anything, a dream, wish, comment, or inspiration. However the true motivation was dreams and wishes.
It's just too easy to get lost in the rhythms of life and the dreams fade away.
My hope is this could be a way to help revive them for others or give them a place to live.

Oh heck yeah its even better now. Slept on it and didnt like the way it was working. Its freaking wood, this should be straight forward.
Now we start at the outer edges and work in looking for a change in background and set a bounding line there. Then remove it.

For now Im "simulating" scanning lumber. Take an image, process, and then move the cnc. Repeat for each "slot".

Fun facts about the big guy here.
His name is Ken and he’s about 42yo. His mother and him are the only orcas on record to kill another pods baby.
Don’t worry though it happened back in the 90s so he’s reformed now.
Lumber-pi (digitizing lumber for grain matching glue ups) is now a simple (local)api that returns a photo from a get request.
Next is implementing
-server moves cnc
-requests photo
-crops, removes bg, stiches to last
- loops until entire piece is scanned.
Lots of progress tonight, last one is soldered and wired in the face.
Bonus tip: a little copper tape on the cheap touch sensors makes it sensitive enough to be detected through at least a quarter inch.
