We're also observing deteriorations in Mozambique's Gaza Province, where over half of the population have insufficient food consumption. Here, people have had to rely on less expensive food & reduce meals to cope w/ increasing insecurity.

In #Mozambique, the incidence of conflict-related fatalities rose by 219% since Jan 2021 - mainly driven by escalating violence in Cabo Delgado, where almost 1 in 2 people now report insufficient food consumption.

Simultaneously, 72% of the population reports challenges accessing #markets in #Benin, w/ lack of money the top barrier. To cope, 5.1M uses crisis/emergency livelihood coping strategies such as reducing non-food expenses & borrowing money.
