📢 To @AlachuaSchools and the Alachua County School Board: The recent comments made by School Board Chair Sarah Rockwell in response to the passing of @WWE legend @HulkHogan are utterly disgraceful, deeply divisive, and completely unacceptable for someone in a position of public leadership. To respond to the death of a cultural icon and human being with, “Oh did Hulk die? I didn’t even know. Good. One less MAGA in the world,” is not only shockingly disrespectful, but a blatant display of political hatred that has no place in our schools—or in the leadership of our school system. Our children deserve role models who model respect, empathy, and professionalism—not someone who uses their platform to mock the death of others based on their perceived political beliefs. We call on the Alachua County School Board to take swift and decisive action. Sarah Rockwell should immediately resign or be formally removed from her role as Chair. If she cannot represent all families and students in Alachua County with dignity and impartiality, she has no business holding public office. This is not about politics.
