Keep him in your prayers
I think it's pretty official now. While I haven't seen the biopsy results, it's looking like lung cancer. It was caught very early but it's still a nasty condition to have. Next week, I will be going into surgery to have a portion of a lung removed. I'll be in ICU for several days while they monitor me. After that, depending on the pathology report, I'll either be set up for some form of treatment or merely monitored for the next 5 years.
I won't say that this is probably the worst surgical procedure I've been through, but it's not pretty. I've been prepared, in the past, to deal with the pain and the potential complications. This time, I'm not sure it'll be that easy.
That being said, I've put my trust in God. He pulled me through Hodgkin's, through COVID, the trainwreck that was my gallbladder, and He will pull me through this.
This is my second battle with Cancer. Something I've dreaded for the last 3 decades since my first bout. I'm not exactly doomed but, where I'm standing, the future ain't so certain.
I still intend to keep writing and publishing. Though, be patient with me in the coming months and years: my plate is kinda full.
I do find it a little ironic, sitting here under a cloud of doubt and fear. The term "Have faith" bookends my next story. I guess maybe I should take my own advice?
Anyhow, that's what's up.

I joined Rising Tide Media Group last year to make a new Indie film, a psychological thriller called "Where Even Shadows Fear to Tread". We wrote the script and I created one of the two main protags, then my cohort in crime @jarrodchristman began production.
We launched a KS, but screwed up on the marketing. That's our bad. The movie has continued to build, however, and I had a brilliant idea (really, I'm dumb. This would've been the smart move first) to just make a GoFundMe, so here it is.

Review: The Forgotten Planet by @rowlands_laws.
Third in a series, this novel follows the loveable crew of the Nightingale as they take yet another dubious job in hopes of yet another fat paycheck. It’s built out of a couple of my favorite sci-fi tropes: xenoarchaeology and the search for lost Earth.
Rowland’s writing style is a little bit on the tell side rather than show, but he keeps the story moving. This would work very well for a YA audience, although it’s not marketed that way.
There’s plenty of action, but the true heart of this series is a cast of characters who know each other too well, finish each other’s sentences, and know the punchlines to all each other’s inside jokes. You can feel the crew’s history together on every page.
