A journalist from Kajiado wrote an article about State House Comptroller Katoo Ole Metito, which he later termed it as defamatory and took the journalist to court. Through his influence, the journalist was arrested, and the court awarded Katoo Ole Metito KSh16 million in damages. The journalist is now cooling his Sundus in a govt owned Airbnb located in a gated community along Kamiti Rd as his family struggles to raise the KSh16 million.
It is said that the family has already sold part of their land, but Governor Joseph Ole Lenku has decided to intervene and help them raise the money through a public fundraiser. Katoo Ole Metito through his Facebook page said he will not forgive the young journalist because he wants him to serve as an example. He said he'll use the 16 million to do community projects as he eyes to become the next governor of Kajiado.
