Am fairly certain no one has ever deserved anything as much as Ben deserves this. Huge for Haaretz. Huge for all of us. Congratulations, @Bsamuels0!!!!
Some news: I’m utterly delighted to announce I’m @haaretzcom’s new U.S. bureau chief. Much, much more to come but we are making a major push into America. Watch this space 👀 In the meantime: looking for a new Washington correspondent. Reach out if interested or have a rec!

Some career news: I was among the 11 talented storytellers laid off from Axios yesterday. I’ll always have immense gratitude for the relationships I’ve made and the events I got to cover over the past four years from the Oscars to the Final Four. I welcome any help in finding my next role. My DMs are open and my email is maxwellmillington@gmail.com

Insane stat out of today's @axios San Diego newsletter: local parents are shelling out more than 2x the cost of college tuition for child care in the area. axios.com/local/san-diego/20…

Dropped my son off at his (military facility) daycare today, and he cried when we said goodbye. Then I walked out thinking "what if the base is attacked and something happens to him and I put him down and said goodbye even though he was sad." Military families are not okay.

Millions of middle-class Americans who have ACA health plans are facing soaring premiums in 2026 — and tough coverage choices after the new rates kick in Jan. 1. And it often falls to women to figure out a family's insurance puzzle. npr.org/sections/shots-healt…

A lot has changed in 2.5 years. These days I have a barre membership I use ~3x/week. I run, play guitar, read, watch my favorite TV shows, go to concerts, parent, & work full-time. It took until my youngest was almost 3, and the balance can be wonky, but I did it. I'm happy.
Embarrassing confession: I do not know what I like to do. I have two kids under 3.5 and much of my free time is spent in service of our household or doing the bare minimum for myself, so I do not have any hobbies. Except, now I need one. Or several.

Today I did not pee from 6 AM until 3:30 PM in case anyone is wondering what I meant by “sometimes the balance is wonky.”

Parents are turning to golf carts to save money on cars and make getting out of the house easier. One major problem: kids keep getting hurt. New(ish) from me for @yahoolife: yahoo.com/lifestyle/article/…

My last freelance piece for a while: Cars are too expensive. Families want to be outside anyway. So they turn to golf carts as an alternative and then...kids get hurt. How should families straddle the line between cost-savings, convenience, and safety? yahoo.com/lifestyle/article/…
