New paper alert: re-description of an ancient long nosed fish out today in @ZoolJLinnSoc (doi.org/10.1093/zoolinnean/z…, by myself, @laurensallan, JP Hodnett, and Spencer Lucas). Thread: anatomy, paleoecology, and convergent evolution in ancient fishes. Illustration by Nobu Tamura.

Thanks I forgot: Joe Biden received 81 million votes. More than any candidate for President in the history of this country. It was a total landslide. A wipe out of historic proportions. He then went on to pass more bipartisan legislation than any President since LBJ. Conversely Donald Trump has not done much except start a war no one wanted doubled inflation expanded the trade deficit to historic highs and enriched himself and his family to the tune of billions of dollars.

People surprised they get banned for swearing: what world do you live in? Not that hard to not type swear words in a video game, grow up.

We also have a code of conduct that every player of our games agrees to. Part of that is refraining from profanity. Freedom of Speech is between the US Govt. and it's citizens. Not between a private company and their customers. No, you aren't allowed to curse in our games. Do so, get reported, there are consequences. ^PJ

I’d love someone to explain why it’s cruel to kill and eat an animal but not a plant. Plants don’t want to die either.
Billie Eilish addresses criticism over her statement that “eating meat is inherently wrong”: “go watch a documentary or two and some footage of what is done to the animals u claim to love and what it does to the planet u pretend to love as well. if that footage was hard for u to watch i encourage u to pls take a look at urself. like i am so tired of standing up for/having empathy for living beings being controversial. pls continue to live in a constant state of cognitive dissonance and denial and try to convince urself that ur not living a lie. mwah”

The most surefire way to make yourself more fragile, to cut your career short, is to be undisciplined about rest and recovery, to push yourself too hard, too fast, to overtrain and to pursue the false economy of overwork. Manage the load.

Ryan Holiday is awesome, so happy that he uses his platform to speak out against injustice.
They call it the mediocre to MAGA pipeline. I'd say that's an insult to mediocre.

Ryan is one of the only white men in self development to publicly speak against Trump and his corrupt circle. I have a lot of respect for him speaking up repeatedly Many others in self development could learn a lesson from Ryan
Lol. Rolling your eyes at the performative philosophy of a member of the most corrupt family in American history is apparently 'fuming'? Although if there was anything to be mad about these days, I think objecting to people lighting the world on fire so they can make a killing in prediction markets and kickbacks is probably it. yahoo.com/entertainment/cele…

Unfortunate. WoW has to reset and the commitment has to be clear and firm or it will continue to decline.

God’s heart is torn apart by wars, violence, injustice and lies. But our Father’s heart is not with the wicked, the arrogant, or the proud. God’s heart is with the little ones and the humble, and with them He builds up His Kingdom of love and peace day by day. Wherever there is love and service, God is there. #ApostolicJourney #Algeria

Notice how the amount of water for a hamburger doesn't note that you get hundreds of pounds of meat from a single cow (i.e. many burgers). ChatGPT uses 274 million gallons of water a week. One of these supports jobs and food, the other is used to cheat at homework.

I could use AI every day of my life and it would still not be as ecologically damaging as a double decker cheeseburger

Interesting that a lot of the these talking points are being pushed by a research outfit that sells, you guessed it, AI agents. Totally unbiased source of information!
people are trying to argue with this and it’s literally the truth. a kilogram of beef requires over 15,000 litres of water to produce. a vegan who uses chatgpt every day is living a more sustainable lifestyle than someone who regularly eats beef while boycotting AI.

A company that produces nothing of value uses less water than the global production of an essential foodstuff. Super big news. Also notice the purposeful use of green bars for what they want you to like versus red bars for the “bad water use”
