All this arguing over recruiting and transfer portal when in my mind - it really comes down to two things… Can Alabama run the ball and can they consistently stop the run. I firmly believe what I’m about to say and I full expect pushback from a lot of you, but… I’ve said it before - Alabama was a run game away from actually competing for a National Title in 2026. That’s going to make the trolls and casuals laugh, but a run game fixes several other issues we saw with the 2025 version of Alabama. It balances the offense, expanding the playoff and taking stress off of the QB, it keeps defenses honest, addresses field position issues, and alleviates some stress on the kicking game. If the run game gets better - it advances the offense and directly impacts recruiting imo. So - we can argue about everything (as some bama fans like to do), but 2026 will come down to “can they run the ball?”
