ここ最近でFFシリーズを１からぶっ通してる僕なりの意見をまじめに言いますね。 FF16はFFシリーズとして認めないというお便りが凄く来ます。 FF16が自分の好みではない、という意見は当然あっていいと思います。 ただ、アクションだからFFではない、従来と違うからFFではない、という主張にはあまり説得力が無いと思ってます。 なぜなら、変わり続けること自体が、最初からFFというシリーズの特徴だったからです。 FF1で王道のレベル制RPGとパーティー編成を作った直後、FF2ではそれを捨てて熟練度制を採用しました。 FF3ではジョブチェンジを中心にし、FF4では自由なジョブ変更をやめて、キャラクター固有の役割とATBを導入。 FF5では再びジョブを発展させ、FF6では固有能力と魔石育成へ変わりました。 その後も同じです。 FF7のマテリアはFF8でジャンクションへ変わり、FF10ではCTB、FF11とFF14はMMORPG、FF12はガンビット、FF13はオプティマ、FF15はアクション寄りのオープンワールド、そしてFF16は本格的なアクションRPGになりました。 評価されたシステムであっても、次回作でそのまま使わない。 毎回世界観も戦闘も成長システムも作り直し、その時代における新しいRPGを目指す。 それがFFの歴史かなと僕は解釈してます。 だから、FF16が従来作と違うことは、FFではない根拠にはなりません。 むしろ、前作の形に留まらず、大きく変化したこと自体が非常にFFらしい。 もちろん、コマンドバトルの方が好きだった、パーティー操作が欲しかった、RPG要素が薄く感じた、という批判は分かります。 それは作品に対する具体的な評価です。 でも、自分の好きだったFFと違うことと、FFではないことは別です。 FF16は、クリスタル、召喚獣、国家同士の争い、仲間との旅、世界の命運を背負う物語といったFFの要素を受け継ぎながら、それを現代のアクションRPGとして表現した作品です。 FFとは、特定の戦闘システムを守り続けるシリーズではありません。 毎回変わりながら、その時代のファイナルファンタジーを作り続けるシリーズです。 だからFF16を好きではないと言うのは自由です。 ただ、変わったからFFではないと言うなら、それはFFが最初から歩んできた歴史そのものを否定することになります。

A Black baby was killed by police, over diapers they claimed were stolen, but the mother paid for. It’s sickening. And there’s always someone propping up an excuse instead of acknowledging the inhumanity of a system that doesn't value Black lives

I’m gonna comment on this for a second time today. Shows like Little Bear, Blue’s Clues, etc need to make a comeback. They had deliberate pauses and incorporated space.
