BREAKING: ARIZONA SUPERIOR COURT RULES SELECT LOCATIONS ON NAVAJO WILL REMAIN OPEN UNTIL 9 P.M
Arizona Superior Court Judge Michael Latham granted a temporary restraining order to allow polling locations to remain open for an additional two (2) hours at the following Chapter House locations on the Navajo Nation - Lukachukai, Lupton, Rock Point, Cottonwood, St. Michaels, Fort Defiance, Wheatfields, Dennehotso, and Chinle.
This ruling comes after the Navajo Nation filed a complaint in the Superior Court of the State of Arizona against Apache County, seeking an emergency extension of polling hours by two hours due to technical difficulties impacting voting on the Navajo Reservation.
The court ordered that these locations remain open for an additional two hours, however, only voters who are registered within these locations or precincts can vote beyond the 7 p.m. voting deadline.
The Navajo Nation stated that polls at these locations either did not open at 6 a.m. or were having technical issues with voting technology.
