What better way to celebrate @America250 than to join the citizens of New Carlisle to dedicate Schuyler Colfax Park which was built on the site of a church that stood for over 150 years. This park is not only special because of where it is or who it honors but how it came to be. It is a gift from Tim and Melanie Creason to the town. Privately funded and the product of the hard work of many, this park is what can happen when neighbors see an opportunity and don’t wait for somebody else or the government to take the initiative. This is perhaps what most characterizes America: individuals that are selflessly willing to invest in each other and the future expecting nothing in return. #America250

New data from the Indiana State Department of Health shows that Indiana's infant mortality rate remains at a historic low. 📉 This reflects ongoing efforts to support mothers, babies and Hoosier families.

📵Keeping students focused during the school day is critical. Indiana's new bell-to-bell cellphone policy helps students stay focused, supports teachers and creates a better learning environment in our schools. Senate Enrolled Act 78 prohibits the use of personal devices throughout the school day with exceptions for medical needs and student accommodations. ✅

So, the IN Election Division requires individuals collecting signatures for ballot access to disclose where they live. Here's a list of familiar Indiana communities that the totally volunteer, grassroots Hoosiers helping @GregforIndiana hail from: St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands Glendale, AZ Chula Vista, CA Lancaster, CA Lompoc, CA Menifee, CA Jacksonville, FL Melbourne, FL Lithonia, GA Davis, IL Freeport, IL Mount Carroll, IL Pekin, IL Jennings, LA Lacombe, LA New Iberia, LA Detroit, MI Clemmons, NC Paterson, NJ Brooklyn, NY Houston, TX Milwaukee, WI
There’s been a lot of talk about the number of signatures I need to get on the ballot this November: 36,943. Most Hoosiers have no idea how that compares to what it takes to run statewide as an independent in surrounding or similar states. It’s pretty interesting. In all but one state, the 20K we’ve already collected would put us on the ballot comfortably. SURROUNDING STATES Indiana (pop. 6.9M) 36,943 Illinois (pop. 12.7M) 25,000 Michigan (pop. 10.1M) 12,000 Ohio (pop. 11.9M) 5,000 Kentucky (pop. 5.6M) 5,000 SIMILAR STATES Arizona (pop. 7.6M) 11,247 Tennessee (pop. 7.2M) Just 25! Massachusetts (pop. 7.1M) 10,000 Indiana (pop. 6.9M) 36,943 Maryland (pop. 6.3M) 10,000

If you haven’t read the book “The Two-Parent Privilege,” you should do it soon! From the book: Even adjusted for income, kids raised by two bio parents are more likely to graduate high school or college, less likely to go to prison, and to be unemployed. Kudos @GovBraun
Today, I proclaimed June as Nuclear Family Month in Indiana. As a father of four and grandfather of seven, I have seen firsthand the impact that loving, committed families can have across multiple generations. As we approach America’s 250th anniversary, this proclamation recognizes the important role families play in shaping the future of our state and our country. Indiana will continue supporting policies that strengthen families and help the next generation thrive.

Indiana's commitment to early literacy is making an impact! 🌟 A recent national report ranks Indiana's Reading Recovery Program 6th in the country, highlighting strong results in helping struggling young readers to get back on track. 📊 By investing in proven early intervention, Indiana schools are helping more Hoosiers build the reading skills they need for long-term success. ✅📚 To read more, visit: bit.ly/4dt5XA8

If I told you that one man since 2020 has faced over 30 criminal cases in Indiana, including most being felony charges in Marion County for theft, resisting law enforcement, drug offenses, residential entry, auto theft, and criminal trespass, would you expect him to be in jail? Me too. Recently, he allegedly committed a violent crime against Carmel residents, injured a victim and terrorized a family. Unacceptable. Let me ask what many residents are likely thinking: How does this happen?! Carmel and other donut county residents pay the price when repeat offenders in Marion County cycle through the system without accountability. Our residents deserve to be safe. And police officers, who repeatedly do their jobs and put themselves in harm’s way, deserve a system that works alongside them. We’ve invested in more personnel, technology and partnerships to keep Carmel safe. Enough is enough. This cannot be our new normal. It’s time Marion County does their part and holds criminals accountable.

Low and predictable taxes for every generation, indeed! My comments were meant only to imply that we shouldn’t favor one over the other. Hoosiers of all ages are struggling under the weight of reckless government spending at every level and irresponsible monetary policy by feds.

Great idea! Let's have a generational war instead of cutting taxes for this and future generations.

Shifting the tax burden to young families doesn’t seem like the right way to make life more affordable for average Hoosiers. Yes, many of my elderly constituents are struggling with their bills. So are young people who are putting off getting married and starting families because they can’t afford to buy a home. Generally speaking, Americans 55 control nearly 70% of the nation’s wealth. Any future tax relief needs to be much more nuanced.

I normally wouldn’t amplify something with vile language like this but the irony of tweeting this at the son of a retired truck driver who often shopped for clothes at the thrift shop growing up is too good. It gets better when you realize that just this year, I voted for no tax on tips or overtime (everyone knows that’s how wealthy folks make their money), bills to promote affordable housing and utilities, and have consistently championed quality educational choices Hoosier families regardless of their income or zip code. The GOP is the party of the working Hoosier family. The Dems are the party of the woke elite.
Replying to @jaketeshka
kind of sounds like maybe that you should support a living wage an actual quality wages for people here in Indiana. But you don’t. Cause you don’t give a fuck about people unless they are wealthy.

Saying that we want to hire foreign workers over qualified Hoosiers because they’re cheaper doesn’t exactly make it better…
Replying to @jaketeshka
Show us the links to these jobs? From what I've seen the posts are for experienced folks in science and engineering at salaries that are beneath that given the entry level employee. cco.purdue.edu/data for salary references.

There’s no reason that state institutions should be doing this. There are plenty of qualified Hoosiers for these types of jobs.
Why are Indiana universities choosing to hire H-1 B visa workers for six-figure entry-level jobs in fields in which those universities offer degree programs? Why aren't they hiring new graduates who just got a degree in that field under that university's instruction instead?

I’m proud to endorse Max Engling for Secretary of State. Max shares our values, puts Hoosiers first, and is someone every Republican can be proud to run with. Let’s unite and give Democrats nothing to work with. Let’s go. 🇺🇸

I could say @BeauBayh is complaining about something similar his dad did 10 years ago, but Beau didn’t live here back then, so that’s not fair.
NEW: @BeauBayh CAMPAIGN STATEMENT ON FOURTH REPUBLICAN ENTERING SECRETARY OF STATE RACE: In response to Congressional staffer Max Engling’s entrance to the Republican contest for Secretary of State, Beau Bayh for Indiana Campaign Manager, Jack Tormoehlen, released the following statement: “The corruption and insider dealing in Diego Morales’s Secretary of State office has been going on for years.  And yet, it wasn’t the luxury SUVs he’s purchased, or the international trips paid by unknown sources, or even the no-bid contracts for donors that finally earned him an opponent - it’s a bunch of insiders realizing that Morales would probably lose to Beau Bayh in November. Now, insiders in DC and Indianapolis want to dictate how delegates should vote at the state GOP convention by throwing in a new candidate at the last minute. Beau will continue to campaign on returning integrity to this office and moving beyond the ugliness of today’s politics. Hoosiers deserve better, and they’ll get that with Beau Bayh as Secretary of State.”

I’ve gotten to know Max Engling over the past couple of years and found him to be a man of character and conviction. We need a change in at the top of our @indgop ticket and I believe he is the right candidate to lead it! #MaxEngling #IndianaSOS

In the month of May, we honor the brave men and women who have served and continue to serve our country. 🇺🇸 Indiana's military members, veterans and military families embody courage, sacrifice and dedication. Their service strengthens our communities and protects the freedoms we cherish every day. Today, and every day, we thank those who wear the uniform and the families who stand beside them.
