This week is Carers week.
I look after my brother, who lives with brain damage and is non-verbal. He may not speak but he's taught me lessons nobody else could, his strength and resilience is out of this world.
He's the reason I got into politics. Being his advocate is one of the greatest responsibilities I'll ever carry, and I will always fight hard for what's best for him.
To every carer reading this, thank you for what you do.

BREAKING | Sikhs wearing the Kirpan will be accommodated at FIFA World Cup 2026 venues in Canada following advocacy by the @WorldSikhOrg.
"FIFA has confirmed that Sikhs will be permitted to attend FIFA-controlled venues in Toronto and Vancouver while wearing the kirpan, provided that the individual is wearing the kirpan alongside the other four Sikh articles of faith, the kirpan blade does not exceed 10 cm in length, the kirpan remains secured in its sheath, is attached to a fabric belt (gatra), and is worn under clothing at all times. FIFA has advised us that venue staff and security personnel in Toronto and Vancouver have been informed of this accommodation," the WSO shared in a release while also thanking FIFA, the host cities, members of the Sikh Caucus, and government representatives at all levels for helping secure the accommodation.
