I keep getting asked "why don't you drop the T from the
@LGBTCons". Here is why I won't do that.
People seem to think dropping the T would magically solve every disagreement in the LGBT community.
It will not.
The difficult questions around sport, healthcare, schools and single-sex spaces would still exist. The only difference is weâd be shouting at each other from different sides of a bigger divide.
We need less tribalism and more grown-up and pragmatic conversations. Protect womenâs rights. Respect trans people. Find workable solutions.
Politics should be about solving problems. That is what I intend to do. And that is how I intend to lead the
@LGBTCons we will solve these problems.
