Bury North is my family’s home town I want for your family everything I want for mine Across our town we play by the rules to make ends meet We know its tough We know many more have it even tougher Our country is going backwards After 14 years of this Tory government, what works? What’s got better? Families are struggling with the cost of living crisis Ordinary working people, hammered with the highest taxes in 80 years Public Services have become Public Struggles The NHS is in crisis, waiting times are up, getting a GP appointment gets harder People are hard up, fed up but we mustn’t give up My faith in our town remains We need an MP that unites One that champions you and our town More money in your pocket Public services back on their feet, fit for the future Our schools need investment, and a plan for every child Children with special educational needs need specialism and real educational care Bury businesses need backing not burdening, whether they’re start up or scale-up The green jobs of the future must come to Bury first We must take back our streets from anti-social behaviour and crime Labour has changed and is ready to change Britain To make everyday life better for everyone To raise the floor on which we all stand You know I am on your side Together, we: Saved the walk-in centre; Funded our Hospice; Got the country behind saving Bury FC I’ve secured life-saving drugs for Bury families on the NHS; Championed local jobs; And I’m still fighting the inequalities in education Let’s move forward after these damaging Tory years Bury and Britain needs change, not more of the same It’s a clear choice between a changed Labour Party and the same old Tories We can build a better future It’s time for a fresh start Bury and Britain needs change I am change Bury North can trust And I am determined to deliver it, so that everyone of us can thrive. #ChangeYouCanTrust

David Hockney was an English genius. A Yorkshire thoroughbred. Mischievous, endlessly curious and relentlessly creative. He was punk and pop, rural and urban, sophisticated and grounded, international yet unmistakably Yorkshire. Few artists have reinvented themselves so often while remaining so recognisably themselves. Across seven decades he was never static, always looking for a new way of seeing and showing the world. Consistently present, forever changing. Rest In Peace, David 🪻

There’s no doubting the affection for Andy on the doors in Makerfield. It’s energising. Nobody gets 💯 of course but that’s not really the point. His campaign, For Us, is really resonating and we had some excellent conversations again today with voters he’s reconnecting, about what matters most to them. Politics works best when it’s rooted in place and focused on everyday lives. As one of Andy’s letters says, we’re stronger together when we stick together, and this is especially resonant now.

Great to meet with the Chancellor @RachelReevesMP alongside @Eamonn_OB, Leader of Bury Council, to discuss our ambitions for Bury town centre and Bury North. We made the case for future growth funding and highlight the huge potential of our communities. Positive discussions about how we can unlock investment, support local jobs, and deliver opportunities for residents. Looking forward to continuing to work together to secure the investment our area deserves.

Our changes to the youth justice system will put public protection first. I spoke with @RSylvester1 about our transformative plans to prioritise early intervention, implement tougher requirements for offenders and responsible adults, and modernise our custody settings. The fact that c.2/3s of the 13,000 children sentenced each year go on to reoffend shows we are failing. 80% of adult persistent offenders first entered the justice system as children. We must improve. Our agenda will turn around young lives and cut crime. @ObserverUK observer.co.uk/news/politics…

And the finisher
Personal best with the db press and row today (25kgs) I’ve been Hyrox training for a year now properly, dropped 20kg in weight and now concentrating on strength and building it back up.

He’s right. It’s a fucking disgrace.
Football should bring people together, not shut them out. For the first time since the competition began, fans won’t be able to watch the Champions League final for free. That’s not right. This is bigger than wanting to watch Arsenal in this historic final. It’s bigger than one club. Hardworking people shouldn’t have to fork out for a subscription to watch this match. I urge TNT Sports to reconsider and make the final next Saturday free to watch.
