Good Morning from Milwaukie Oregon. I sat on this stoll 79 years ago .. Same place, same stool. Instead of a Rexall Drug store, it is now a gift store. But, they have maintained this area of the store perfectly. Many memories were realized during this final trip to a reunion in Oregon ..

Prelude .. intheaftermathbook.com 11:30 PM It was 11:30 at night. What a day. Busy from start to finish. I had just gotten into bed—completely exhausted. So tired, I didn’t even acknowledge my wife lying next to me. I was already drifting off when the phone rang. I remember thinking… Oh no. I reached for it. “Hello.” “Gaskell?” “Yes.” “There are at least twenty cars with families stranded on South Mountain. It’s in the middle of a storm up there. They all purchased gas at the same station before heading south.” There was a pause… then the voice tightened. “Get over to that gas station and find out what in the hell happened.” I was fully awake now. “I’m on my way. ETA forty-five.” I hung up, got dressed, and headed out into the night. Whatever had happened… it was already in motion. And people were depending on us to figure it out.
