The consequences of the high costs, low accessibility, and low quality of child care in Nevada cannot be understated. Commentary from Monserrat Cristando-Romo and Caitlin J. Saladino of the @LincyInstitute: nevadacurrent.com/2024/07/29…
Vermonters from every political affiliation and from every corner of the state are united in demanding action on child care. Child care is essential and impacts EVERY Vermonter — and we're advocating for an end to this crisis, once and for all.
The teachers and staff at Nevada's Head Start schools are literally changing our kids' lives by giving them early childhood education that sets them up for lifelong learning.
Â
I'm fighting to expand Head Start because I've seen the difference it makes for our working families.
A Nevada law from the 70s allows courts to charge a fee for people using public defenders. The practice varies depending on the court and judge. @FinesandFeesJC wants state lawmakers to repeal that law. My story. nevadacurrent.com/2024/06/02… via @NevadaCurrent
Head Start programs literally change the lives of our kids by helping them get the early education and support they need for lifelong success in school.
I'm proud to fight to ensure that Nevada students have every opportunity to succeed, including access to Head Start.
"You can’t have a conversation about economic development without child care."
When VT families can't afford child care, they can't participate in our workforce, and our businesses suffer. Child care is ESSENTIAL. See the full clip:
Thanks to Act 76, child care programs across the state are stabilizing and growing, and this progress also supports Vermont families, businesses, and the economy.

No one is ready for what this (and I assume other political / regulatory changes coming as a result of this) is going to do to this industry.
Buckle the hell up 🚀🚀🚀🚀
This is unprecedented: The most powerful union in Nevada has unendorsed Democratic lawmakers who favored the gaming industry over the Culinary when the union tried to pass a bill to give it leverage in contract negotiations.
This is going to roil the campaign waters.
đź‘€ @Culinary226 un-endorses every sitting legislator who voted in favor of #SB441, which removed pandemic-imposed requirements placed on the gaming industry, including the cleaning of hotel rooms on a daily basis.
ALT Regarding the State Senate and Assembly races: During the 2023 Nevada Legislature, a number of state legislative Democrats joined all Republicans and voted to repeal daily room cleaning. SB441 was signed into law by Governor Lombardo and hurt guest room attendants and our jobs.
The Culinary Union has chosen to *not* endorse politicians in the 2024 Primary who previously had an endorsement, but who disappointedly voted in favor of passing SB441. Candidates, who are no longer endorsed, are crossed out in red on the 2024 Primary Endorsement Guide. Culinary Union will re-evaluate all endorsements ahead of the November general election.
