Hello Sooner Nation! This week is my 5 year anniversary as the Director of Athletic Fields. Sadly, this is also my final week with OU. I can’t thank OU Athletics enough for taking a chance on me and giving me the opportunity to live a dream. It was an honor and a privilege to serve and work with each of you. One of my goals while overseeing the athletics fields was to always try to provide a “WOW factor” when walking into a stadium to see a game. This would not have been possible without a great turf team and a supportive administration. Recently, I was offered an incredible opportunity to become the GCS at the historic Dornick Hills CC. Thank you all for your shoutouts and the support you continuously showed me and my turf team! Boomer Sooner!

During my career I’ve managed the grounds of several golf courses, had my own business, and took care of the Athletic fields for OU. Managing the athletic fields was by far the lowest paying and difficult of the 3. The athletic department was always looking for ways to generate more revenue. I’m glad we didn’t ever do this, but hats off to the Aggie Turf staff and @aggiefieldguy for pulling this off, I hope you and your staff got a good bonus for going above and beyond normal working requirements.

I like using my blower to fill in aerification holes. I usually do a light drag with brushes, then finish it off this blower. Leaves us a nice a clean surface when finished!

I found this Soil Reliever buried in our junk area here at Dornick. It hadn’t been used in over 20 years according to staff that have been here that long. It’s a blessing to have one and it’s gonna help us grow much better grass throughout the course. Especially the very compacted cart path sides of our roughs! And when I told the board we needed a new tractor to run this piece of equipment, they got me this brand new John Deere! #DornickHills

Gorgeous weather for this time of year! It feels like I’m cheating using turf paint instead of seeding with actual ryegrass. But painting fairways is the trend nowadays, saves A LOT of time and money and looks really good. #dornickhills

Had a chance to step on their throat and practically put the game out of reach, but no we can’t have that. QB has to do what he does best and throw easy pics. It’s far from over, but good gosh it’s frustrating. It’s the exact opposite of what happened in Tuscaloosa a month ago.

As long as Joe C is our AD, I doubt he will ever ask the fans to do a blackout. Look how many wore black tonight because it was “rumored” a few players wanted it! It would look so damn good if we did! I asked him one time for black endzones, it was a HARD NO. lol.

When I made this post, I didn’t realize both Tulane and JMU get in automatically. Neither have hardly any chance of winning a game against Ole Miss and aTm. Them getting in at 11 and 12 doesn’t really matter to us, just makes me wish we were the 6 or 7 seed. lol.

Tell us how it feels as a Texas fan to beat both OU and T A&M and then watching them in the playoffs from your couch? 😂 😂 😂
